The Build:
Before the Transformation
In Seattle’s beautiful North Queen Anne neighborhood, our team at MasterDecks took on the challenge of rebuilding a massive three-story deck from the ground up. The project began with a full demolition of the existing deck and footings before constructing new foundations and supports designed to safely span the entire width of the home. Given the home’s hillside location and strict City of Seattle permitting process, this project required nearly two years of coordination, engineering, and approvals before construction could begin. Our team stayed patient and diligent through every step, navigating the complexities of urban access, steep terrain, and the Pacific Northwest’s unpredictable weather to build a structure engineered for long-term strength and safety.
The Result:
A Dream Come True
The finished deck is a showcase of modern craftsmanship and low-maintenance materials. We used
TimberTech® composite decking for its durability and timeless look, paired with a Brown American Structures & Design (ASD) aluminum railing system installed by our sister company, ResCom Railing. The railing features sleek pickets, a composite drink rail top cap, and a fascia-mounted installation that maximizes deck space and enhances the view. Additional features include Simpson Strong-Tie® hardware, a catwalk connection, and precision structural detailing to ensure performance in Seattle’s damp, coastal climate.
