MasterDecks to the rescue! Unfortunately, this client had previously hired other contractors, only to be left with a yard full of holes, an exposed home, and a project barely underway. Having had a great experience with our sister company, Rock Electric, they turned to MasterDecks, part of the People Come First Construction Group, to bring their vision to life. We stepped in to complete this stunning multi-level composite deck and patio, seamlessly wrapping around their existing hot tub.

Coming into this project midway required us to take an unconventional approach. With large footing holes already dug and our design team reworking the deck’s structure, we opted to use temporary bracing for the ledger board and substructure. This allowed us to precisely position the new footings, ensuring a solid and properly aligned foundation for the final build.

Once the foundation was set, we moved on to finishing the framing. This deck required multiple levels, including steps leading down to a lower platform that seamlessly integrates with the existing hot tub. We used high-quality pressure-treated lumber for the framing to provide long-lasting durability against Seattle’s damp climate.

For this project, the homeowners opted for a composite decking material, known for its durability, low maintenance, and sleek aesthetic. Composite boards resist rot, warping, and fading, making them an excellent choice for Seattle’s weather. The precision in laying the decking ensured a flawless, polished finish with clean lines and tight seams.
