In Sammamish, WA, this home featured a cozy covered patio that offered some outdoor living space but fell short of the homeowners’ vision. They wanted to expand their dry outdoor area and add a raised second-level deck that connected directly to their upstairs living spaces. With all bedrooms upstairs, the idea of stepping outside for morning coffee or evening sunsets was the perfect addition.
The family also loved their existing hot tub but found the ground-level patio limited its use during the long, wet winters typical of Sammamish. By expanding covered and elevated outdoor living space, they could enjoy the outdoors for more months of the year without weather being a barrier.
With this vision, People Come First Construction Group transformed the backyard into a functional, comfortable extension of the home — blending design, usability, and year-round enjoyment.

Turning this Sammamish dream into reality started with a strong foundation. To safely support a hot tub on a raised deck, our engineers designed and built a structure that exceeds code requirements — ensuring long-term strength, stability, and beauty.
The project blended the existing patio cover with a new second-story TimberTech deck, complete with a new entry door to connect the upper level of the home. Beneath, an aggregate concrete patio and Undercover System with a 3D-printed wood grain finish created a dry, usable space perfect for the region’s rainy climate.
From comfort features like heaters and fans to stylish finishes such as frosted glass railing, every detail was chosen to enhance both function and design. The result is a multi-level outdoor retreat that can be enjoyed in every season.
