A key priority was making room for a hot tub—a feature that required thoughtful engineering and a strong structural foundation. Because the home sits on a steep slope, careful planning, permitting, and engineering were crucial to ensure both safety and lasting durability.

The Build:
Building the Project: Tackling a Massive Multi-Level Deck in Kirkland, WA
Building on a steep hillside in Kirkland required creativity and determination. With no access for excavating equipment, our crew hand-dug the retaining walls and foundation — a true testament to the craftsmanship behind this project.
Working with engineers, we designed and built a 1,600 sq. ft. multi-level deck beneath the existing structure, carefully reinforcing and retrofitting the old deck for safety and seamless aesthetics. The new design included stairways, a foundation for a hot tub, and space for an outdoor kitchen.
This wasn’t just a deck — it was a complete outdoor living environment. Our team coordinated gas, plumbing, electrical, and structural work to bring the vision to life:
Gas upgrades for two fire pits, a swim spa heater, BBQ, and cooktop
Electrical enhancements including a full panel upgrade, solar prep, dual EV chargers, and 75+ LED lights integrated into the deck
Plumbing installations for a kitchen sink, bathroom, outdoor shower, and hot water, with drainage systems to protect the hillside
Entertainment and comfort features like outdoor TV wiring, heaters, and flexible power for future needs
